ALLEVIATE Your Acne With Private Label Acne Products

Ever gotten ready for a huge event (date, speech, party) and noticed an even huger zit forming on your face? Yeah, me too. No one’s a fan of acne-filled skin, least of all Genie Supply. Today we’re going to do a brief walkthrough of acne (like the traditional ways to treat acne) and some alternative ways to treat acne you may not have considered.

Acne Types & Treatments

We don’t want to settle here too long, but you should know that there are several types of acne (yay). From whiteheads to blackheads to cysts to your good old-fashioned pimple, there are different ways to treat acne. Sometimes it’s a matter of perfecting a skincare routine and sometimes it’s about what you eat.

Acne After-effects

Even if you do manage to treat that stubborn zit, you might have to deal with the post-acne effects. Scarring and hyperpigmentation are a couple of problems. TBH, it doesn’t really matter if you do or don’t pop the pimple. Once your skin is inflamed from acne, your keratin structure could be messed up and you can still end up with some scarring.

But just in case, you should probably try to not pop the pimple as it can increase the risk of bacteria. My recommendation? Wet a cloth with hot water and press it over the spot until the cloth cools. Repeat however many times you want.

Traditional Acne Treatments

Typically if you’re looking for acne treatment, you’ll look for ingredients such as salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, adapalene, or sulfur. These traditional acne treatments are over-the-counter (OTC) nonprescription drugs and they do work.

There’s a reason why you see those names appearing over and over again. However, there are some drawbacks to using these acne treatments.

Adapalene and benzoyl peroxide are known to have bleaching properties with everything they come in contact with, including your skin, sheets, and clothes. Salicylic acid, on the other hand, can burn your skin (ouch) while sulur can induce dryness. Sulfur is also just plain smelly which isn’t good for anyone.

New Acne Treatment on the Horizon: CBD

Currently, there are research and FDA trials going on surrounding the use of CBD to treat acne. Angry, inflamed skin is difficult to deal with, but CBD products are known to reduce inflammation (it’s their greatest strength). Using CBD isolate in 1-5% concentrated oil in creams can do wonders for the skin. Once the CBD deflates the angry skin, you’ve won half the acne battle!

GENIE SUPPLY AND CBD

Update Sept. 9, 2022:

Unfortunately Genie Supply no longer offers private label formulas with CBD. All private label formulas linked to this blog can be offered in CBD for an additional customization price! Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our CBD skin care services!

Alternative Acne Combatants

So, Genie Supply is all about clean, green beauty. If you look through our catalogs for acne products, you’re not going to find any of the traditional treatments. Though we are a registered makeup manufacturer, we’re not an OTC drug manufacturer. However, we have some amazing alternatives for you to explore. We just have a different approach to treating acne, one that’s gentler and healthier for the body.

For starters, all of our products listed come with a CBD option that you can choose. We’ve already mentioned the wonderful CBD effects on your acne earlier. Now, imagine using CBD with the kick-ass ingredients we use together. You’ll find yourself a very happy person (and some very happy customers).

BHA Alternative

Benzoyl peroxide and salicyclic acid are BHAs (beta hydroxy acids). They’re great for acne, but they can have some serious side effects. Check out what Genie Supply has to offer. We use a natural BHA in the form of willow bark extract!

Our Skin Cell Turnover Resurfacing Mask uses willow bark extract and other natural ingredients designed to help you and your skincare needs. Fun fact: BHA oils can sink into the pores which makes this mask super effective.

AHA & Retinoids

So if BHA is beta, then AHA is an alpha hydroxy acid. Our Unicorn Serum uses AHA and HA (hyaluronic acid). While BHA oils are oil-soluble, HA is water-soluble. Though it’s not typically used as an acne treatment, we use it as if it was a retinoid (another OTC drug).

This acne product will break apart bad skin cells or keratin blocking pores and help resurface the skin. Basically think of it as rebinding the glue that binds the skin together.

Resolving Acne’s After-Effects

Scarring and hyperpigmentation can be some of the results from a breakout. However, you also need to focus on regenerating the collagen in your skin. Collagen is what keeps your skin looking fresh and young.

If you’re looking for a product to combat the acne after effects (and increase collagen), then explore our Luxury Vitamin C Serum. This acne product will tone your sin and smooth out all of those acne post-effects such as hyperpigmentation.

Choosing Acne-Friendly Cleansers & Oils

If you have oily skin like me, you may feel like anything with oils don’t belong on your skin. However, that’s not true! Oils can help more than you think.

Cleansing is one of the key parts of a skincare routine because you don’t want to end up with something that will strip your skin of everything and you want to keep acne issues at bay. Here’s two options for you.

Our Rose Water Cleanser is low-foam, gentle, and NOT stripping. Your skin will get all the nourishment and a clean finish after use.

If you’re trying to regulate your oil production, try our Mango Sorbet Cleansing Balm. This product is strictly oil with no water in sight. It’s nourishing without stripping your skin from anything it needs.

Secret Bonus Product for Acne: Retinol

No joke, our Clean Retinol Drops is a bonus superpower product for acne. Like our Unicorn Serum mix of AHA + HA that helps resurface and hydrate the skin, our retinol acne product does the resurfacing and correction by itself.

It will rid your skin of angry skin cells so that the pores won’t be clogged while also increasing collagen production AND fixing hyperpigmentation. Adapalene is a retinoid but this product won’t be bleaching anything. This acne product is gentle, hydrating, and might just fix all your acne needs.
