Customize Your Skin Care Brand

Starting a customized skin care brand is an exciting adventure that can allow you to use your creativity to create something great.

Customizing a skin care brand can be done through a few avenues, but the most cost effective one is private labeling. Private labeling offers many unique benefits in the beauty industry allowing you to create a completely customized skin care brand.

Private labeling is the process of taking an already developed product and labeling it as your own. Private labeling in beauty products offers a unique aspect of customization, as you are able to create nearly an entirely different product than someone else may have with the same formulation.

The Benefits:

  • Save on Costs

Starting any business can be a costly endeavor and when starting a skin care business, the costs can add up quick if you custom formulate a product. The good news is that you don’t have to custom formulate a product to get a customized skin care brand.

With private label skin care you are able to customize a variety of features for your skin care brand, while saving on the cost of formulation.

Beauty labs like Genie Supply offer a variety of formulations with many different active ingredients so you can find a formulation that meets the needs of your customer base.

Don’t believe us? Check out our private label catalog with all of our formulations that we offer as private label products.

While we hope you stick with us, there are dozens of private label beauty companies with hundreds of formulations to choose from. The formulation DOES matter, but the way you package and market your product are just as important!

  • Customization Options

The customizations you can to add your skin care product when you private label are nearly endless. When private labeling skin care you are able to select the type of packaging you would like to use from the supplier’s packaging catalog or bring your own.

To show you just how much you are able to customize your product when private labeling, check out our example of the Cloud Drops brand we have developed at Genie Supply using the Cotton Candy Niacinamide Serum and 125007 packaging.

In this example you will see how a private label formulation and packaging selection have been completely transformed into a customized skin care product.

You get the chance to customize and design:

  • packaging type and color (pick any pantone color)

  • labels/screen printing

  • boxes

If that still isn’t enough customization for you, you can add customizations to the actual formula through custom product creation (CPC). You can use CPC to add up to 2 customizations including:

  • subtracting ingredients

  • substituting ingredients

  • adding a scent or color

The Disadvantages

Everything has an advantage and a disadvantage, and there is a few disadvantages when is comes to using private label formulations to customize a skin care brand.

To keep the same formulation for every production run of your customized product, you have to stay with the lab that you private label with. This is because that lab owns the formulation. It is possible, however, to rebrand and change labs, but you just won’t be able to use the exact same formulation.

If you were to custom formulate your product, which is a bit more costly, you would be able to take your formulation and packaging anywhere for manufacture.

This is why we suggest researching your lab before entering into a partnership with them.
