Green Tea Fragrance Oil - Benefits and Uses

The History of Green Tea

Health-minded people have known about the benefits of drinking green tea for thousands of years. Its popularity first grew in countries such as:

  • India

  • China

  • Japan

  • Thailand

Green tea grows on a large shrub with white flowers. If the leaves are quickly dried, they are classified as green tea. If dried and fermented, you get black tea. As another option, if you dry the leaves and then ferment them, this is oolong (Source).

When people drink it as a tea, it can help with promoting digestion, improving heart health, and even helping regulate blood sugar (Source). But other than improving our bodily wellbeing, what benefits can it offer a beauty routine?

Benefits of Green Tea Oil

Green tea oil, also known as Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Ingredients such as caffeine and tannins offer a load of benefits to the skin (Source).

 It is excellent for:

  • Anti-aging

  • Reducing excess sebum (oil)

  • Protecting the skin from UV and pollution

  • Treating skin conditions like rosacea and acne

  • Soothing the skin

  • Inhibiting the breakdown of collagen

As a relatively gentle product, green tea oil is safe to use daily, and can be safely combined with other products - and is especially beneficial when mixed with other solutions containing antioxidants (Source).

Green Tea Fragrance Oil

One of the other characteristics of green tea oil is that it has an exceptional smell. Just one inhale of green tea fragrance oil can leave the mind soothed and the body relaxed.

Those of us in the beauty industry understand that on labels, different types of scents are always labeled “fragrances” - whether they are synthetic or a blend of synthetic and natural fragrances. Some fragrances can include up to a dozen different ingredients, and up to ⅓ of these ingredients can be harmful or toxic (Source).

And it’s difficult to tell - even if a chemical listed in a fragrance sounds intimidating by name, it might actually be clean. Here at Genie Supply, we’re here to help demystify that process for you while you select the ingredients you desire for your products.

Our Green Tea Fragrance Oil

With us, you have two incredible options for a green tea scent. The first is our green tea fragrance (listed here as cucumber + matcha). It has a light, fresh and pleasing smell - don’t hesitate to order a sample so that you can see for yourself!

For those of you wanting to create a product without any synthetic fragrance, we also offer a green tea extract that carries scent, and qualifies as a fruit/plant extract. This means it’s totally natural and not listed as a “fragrance” - it shows up on the ingredient listing as "Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract" only. Made via a supercritical C02 extract process, it is technically an oil, and it is intended for use in both hair and skincare systems including hair serums and treatments, skin lotions and creams & anti-aging products. It provides all the botanical function as well as the scent.
