What Makes a Product Vegan?
Vegan and cruelty-free are not one in the same, although we at Genie Supply have put them under the same G+C label. While a cruelty-free product does not test on animals, a vegan product does not use animal-based ingredients. Common animal ingredients used in cosmetics include:

Beeswax
Lanolin (wool grease)
Squalene (shark liver oil)
Carmine (crushed-up beetles)
Gelatin (cow or pig bones, tendons or ligaments)
Allantoin (cow urine)
Ambergris (whale vomit)
